I was out during a sunset taking photos and without even thinking about it, I took a few photos of the sun fairly directly on. I am not sure how to check for damage on the sensor. It seems ok from what I can tell but Im still fairly worried about my Sony A6000. I used the kit lens so nothing super fancy. Ended up with 1/4000 shutter speed :-\
