Yesterday, Olympus gave the saddest Photokina presentation I've ever seen.
>CEO begins his speech by admitting he just arrived to the venue 45 minutes ago, alludes to the fact that he's not seen their Photokina display before today
>rambles on for less than 2 minutes about the company
>introduces Japanese exec who barely speaks English, and during his speech the venue made an announcement over the loudspeaker to page someone, completely drowning him out (@ 1:46)
>Japanese exec leaves
>CEO starts rambling again and reads the rest of his speech off of note cards which he placed on the podium
>talks about all the great artists they're partnering with, but the guy hasn't rehearsed how to pronounce their names
>Ends with: “We decided to decouple the Photokina event and the launch of a new product; for us, an important landmark will be the 100th anniversary of Olympus next year, and I would like to ask you to stay tuned…”
>audience looks baffled
They make great glass--Olympus bros don't deserve this.
