So I'm pretty much brand new to photography. I am in the military and my job has me traveling all across the world, so I wanted a nice point and shoot camera that could take high res pics. I also wanted something that didn't require me carrying around an entire kit of lenses, batteries, etc. and something that won't break easily in the wild.

This brought me to the P900, it seems easy enough to use and the superzoom feature looks promising. Are there any better alternatives for my needs? Is this camera known to be shit?
