The 35 has a bad reputation due to the fact that there are published *measured* MTF curves for the lenses and the 35 doesn't look as good as the others. That's irrelevant, it's still a great lens even if you like looking at closeups of test charts, and certainly in real life.
It's a great system for almost any situation. I actually bought mine when the A7 was first announced, thinking I was being clever by picking up FF lenses that would fit on the new digital mirrorless cameras. That turned out not to be such a great idea, but I'm very happy using the camera as intended.
