Why weren't these more popular or considered the holy grail of point and shoots? I have an AF35MII and now I am getting envy (though I guess it is only (ONLY) 2 stops better in low light (1 for the aperture and 1 for the shutter being able to go down to 1/4 where as other canon point and shoots only go down to 1/8 for the shutter)

It's funny because yesterday I binged watched all of the AnalogRev video and all of Ian's videos. Been thinking about picking up one because 40mm is my favorite focal length but I already own like 5 other compacts

it meters up to 1000 if you have the later one. If it is like the AF35MII the flash is only if you turn it on, not always on, and Ken Rockwell said you can turn some of the beeping shit off

Look at the contax g and t series or hexars or the nikon 35 ti or minilux. Even moojoos or the oly x’s. Those are all aesthetic p&s.

OPs pic related and the like are relegated as goodwill cameras for a reason. I cant believe theres people on enay actually selling them for even $20-$40.

You can't half press to lock AF, the lens racks to focus on whatever is in the middle crosshairs when you take a picture. There's a trick to do it, but it's kind of a pain.

They're not, they're heavy, very sturdy, but I love the size. Prob more compact that most PnS, and not an ugly bubbly thing either.

Imo its focus is definitely a problem, its noise is a problem, and it's mode switch is a problem. Besides that it's probably my most used camera, as it fits anywhere and it's low maintenance.

I'd say I overpaid for it, ($80) but I haven't found another in the thrifties and I found a T4Super for even less, so it balances out.

Saw the af35ML going for $200(TWO HUNDRED!!) CANADIAN PESOS downtown TO. Doesn't go for that much on eBay but the hypebeasts on the street will pay anything for a look.
