>>3386707overall I could tell what you were going for, but I asked to trigger some introspection
>poles and cablesthen what are all those leaves doing in the picture? note that the poles and the cables themselves are fairly thin, you're quite far from them, and they are against a blue sky, so it's going to be very hard to make them stand out
>a pleasing scenethat much I can agree with, but what makes it pleasing? is it the writing on the signs and their extra colors?
I would wager it's the water, the cute little huisje and the colors of the opposing buildings and the sky's colors reflecting in the water
so you have to find a way to focus on that and leave out the distractions
that cyan sign alkost single-handedly kills all the harmony of the picture
>van and entranceyes, their colors might work well together
but then there's no place for all the reflective surfaces in the windows, and those branches to the left
the angle also outs them at fairly different distances, and together with the difference in elevation one has to strain a bit to connect the two
I have to admit in that particular case I don't know what possibilities there were to compose it different
you keep trying anon, you at least know what you want to go for. I advise reading a bit about composition or watching some tutorial vids on it, maybe it'll help
also worth looking at pics you like and trying to figure out why you like them. how else could they have been done? would it be better, worse, why? this way of thinking helped me quite a bit, even if it was just for me to be a bit more sure that the way I was shooting was closer to how I had it in my mind
