>>3379195industry standard =/= best product
Adobe has failed to use their proprietery "DNG" file extension and now they are butthurt that no one fell for the scam so now Adobe is actively trying to sabotage for Canon, Nikon etc by defaulting to "Adobe Color" profile in their RAW editor.
Adobe claims "DNG" is """"""""""open standard"""""""" but why the fuck does every company need to pay a license fee for an """""""""""open standard""""""""""" and why is there a clause that Adobe can revoke granted license if a company sues them for whatever reason? Doesn't seem very open to me. If Adobe really wanted to become industry standard for real, they would open source and royalty free their garbage, but they don't. Really makes you think....
Just like how Microsoft's Windows is the "industry standard" in terms of consumer operating system, but it doesn't mean that it's the best product just because they got a bunch of vendor lock-ins back in the day.
There's a reason why servers and datacenters run on Linux and not Windows, and there's a reason why Microsoft themselves use Linux for the "Microsoft Azure" cloud (Microsoft's version of Amazon Web Services etc).
And just like how youtube influencers use Lightroom, professional top-tier photographers use real software like Capture One etc
