This isn't a good argument. Instead I think they welcome the challenge to make even better lenses.

It's the lack of lenses.

You need to make things like
20-44mm f/3.6 zoom to get equivalent of the fast 16-35mm on FF. But the problem is they don't exist.

They are jumping with joy.

It is selling bodies and getting their brand out there. They aren't a complete replacement for the first party lenses either.

The diagonal of a 645 frame is 70mm. The G mount has an internal diameter of 65mm. The system is therefore not compatible with full size 645.

If you have to spend 16 minutes exposing darkness and then give it a 5EV push for it to even become slightly visible, that's not really a huge problem.

If you already have fast lenses and a high iso beast camera that covers all your low light scenarios. I’ve been doing this long enough to have got past the wide open stage, and I’ve looked at enough gfx images and prints to want that extra X% of something it’s going to give me.
