As an aspiring hobby photographer, should I export my RAW files as Adobe RGB (1998) or sRGB, or use the Camera's embeded color profile?

Which is best practice? Does it even matter? I know that for the web, sRGB is the industry standard, but will I hamper myself if I export my RAW files to .TIF with sRGB color profile?

It depends on what you are exporting them for. To put it simply if you are exporting for print in a magazine ask the photo editor what they prefer, if for some reason you can't do this then use Adobe RGB. For anything else you can use sRGB.

So I just noticed in my DSLR camera that the default color space is sRGB and can be changed to Adobe RGB (1998)

should i just stick to sRGB in camera and export my RAW images to .TIFF with sRGB? I don't into professional work btw i just look at my photos on my computer and occasionally post some jpg to the internet

If you are shooting raw the default colourspace on the camera is meaningless. You set that in your processing software
