Only use micro 4/3 for video with my GH5. And the only reason is 10 bit color and an absolutely insane Alexa conversion that exists(color science , highlight roll off, halation is improved dramatically). Picking up an A7iii for stills.

I shoot large format up to 8x10 and I would use a m43 camera if they could make them smaller. For now they aren’t quite small enough for me to care

It doesn't need a secondary image sensor to create shallow depth of field, and the lenses allow you to change the aperture
With phones your aperture is stuck wide open and cannot be changed

I’ve had m4/3 Olys up to Canon/Sony FF. m4/3 is a stupid, dead format. Olys $1200 pro lenses are the worst waste of money when paired with that tiny Cracker Jack sensor. m4/3 is mostly for poorfags that want to feel like pro photogs.

That's not true. Their cameras cost about the same price as comparable cameras with APS-C sensors and upgrade paths to full frame.

It's perfect for my Dad. He doesn't take video or photos that often, and has a benign tremor which lulympus IBIS is able to counteract for videos (he also still had a fuckload of glass from when he used to do short films with his friends back in the 70's).
Since he doesn't use it very often he just wanted something cheap, and even an older m43 still shits all over a phone camera. Not to mention it's far, far cheaper than him updating his phone just to get a camera which performs worse.
Then again, phones only started to beat shit tier compacts from 2008 recently, 1-2 gens ago.
He wanted a happy snap camera, but the snaps from a phone are really not good enough yet and phones are way, way more expensive than a m43 camera leagues ahead of them.
