COST 100$ USED
same quality as zeiss 85 1.4/nikon 85 1.4/canon 85 1.4 (which all cost 1000$ new)
perfect image quality
perfect contrast
perfect shrapness
perfect bokeh

That's where you're wrong buddy. It's a very cost-efficient lens but it's not Zeiss.

More sharpness especially off-center, better contrast, better dampened and nicer feeling focusing ring. Worth it for some people, not for others. I stopped using non-AF lenses altogether because of slow operation.

Samyang optics are fucking trash bro

t. shot all 4 of those, Zeiss and Canon 85's were best. Nikon was good too

I would ventute my old 85 1.8D would give it a run for its money and even if I lose, I have AF and the Samyang doesn't.

Nah, just can't be arsed to deal with dials when the camera does the same faster and more precisely. Plus, there's no particularly convenient way to manually focus this kind of lens on digital - a regular DSLR viewfinder is unusable, a split-prism focusing screen obstructs framing, zoomed live view is a PITA (esp. since it can't be automatically activated on a non-CPU lens), and peaking is unreliable when contrast is low.

most reason i want cheap lens its im shooting street photography at night like you know moscow at night aint montreal rich suburbs

its not southern chicago either but in the middle of this two

so i need cheap and effective lens

only better choice is zeiss 85 1.4 for 400 bucks but its not 4x time better so i'd probably would prefer samyang

oh yeah man i heard that old song about sigma 24-70 2.8 many times. so bad wide open so bad wide open. all the voices mostly came from wedding "photography" like shooting wedding is real photography (i'd call it sub-photography).

all that "pros" need sharp wide open so with oil bokeh they can sell more photos. come on guys do your job i just need "good enough" lens which would do job perfectly enough

dude i use manual lenses many years. its literally no problems with manual focusing in live view. in degital/optical viewfinder its also pretty easy. its need some time to use to it and nothing more. than all that goes reflexively
