How do you guys with x100(x) series cameras edit your photos? Any film presets? I come from shooting film and got an x100t as an every day shooter but i dont like the colors im getting sooc using classic chrome.

I see that deadpan snowy anon post his x100 shots and know its a capable camera. Pls help

Shoot raw then post process. With exception of maybe shooting bw, there is no other way around it. You're shooting xtrans, so you'll also need to look into optimal raw conversion.

colour has always been good enough out of the raw files by default without fussing around with film presets or that kind of thing for me.

it does seem more than my other cameras to need a lot of curve adjustments though, in addition to usually just leaving the thing on +1/3 (at least) exposure comp. maybe thats just an x100s thing though.

just don't buy into the sooc jpeg meme and play around til you figure out your process.

Step 1: switch to a different sim, like pro neg std.
Step 2: mess with shadow, highlight and colour settings until it looks good
Step 3: experiment with the other sims in a similar fashion
Step 4: post results.
***white balance settings will have as much influence on look as anything***

I generally shoot neg std for the preview in the evf but if I was shooting sooc I'd probably use that with +contrast and -highlights or classic chrome with +saturation

I still edit all my raws and I usually shoot raw+jpeg and use the jpeg as a guide sometimes

All the snow stuff is generally shot underexposed and raised carefully so I don't get too much harsh white though

It is certainly a capable camera but the most important thing is still the light and scene before it hits the camera

Most people coming from film are disappointed with digital colors. That is the way it is. The instagram filters the Fuji cameras have helps, but they aren't really all that great.

Your only option is to shoot raw and post process.

X100F here.

I shoot the film sim bracketing.

Usually Standard, Acros, and either Velvia if it's outdoor or ProNegHi if people.

This camera is an enjoyable toy, why not use the features it came with?

If I wanted to spend 4 fucking hours on a raw image this is not the camera I'd carry around.

Just shoot jpg and enjoy yourself.

x100f here too, used to have the S before that.

I shoot RAW, and have been having way better results with Capture One than with Lightroom in regards of the colors, if that helps.

as a fuji shooter I NEVER fuck with the film presets, they dont look like “film” at all. The only thing thats cool is looking through the EVF and seeing everything black and white.

Shoot RAW and lrn 2 edit.

I've been shooting with xtrans since 2014 and converting RAF-files to DNG while importing to Lightroom. Have I ruined my library? Can I sue Adobe?

I'm not a Fuji user so I'm not super well-versed in this but apparently there's some conversion problems editing Fuji files in Lightroom unless you use certain programs to convert the RAF file which keep the original file intact with all the X-tranny data. I've seen articles on PetaPixel and other places about it but I honestly doubt most people would notice the conversion issues since most people don't pixel peep or care that much as long as the photo looks okay on Instagram.

A lot of Fuji users swear by Capture One these days as a better Fuji editor than Lightroom but I wouldn't know from first hand experience, I shoot Sony.

My x100 was my fav cam. Bought two of em. Loved it even over my D800E. Sold them and always regretted it.

I set everything in camera to shoot as neutral as possible. Low contrast.

There where times when it would produce slight off colors but absolutely nothing that couldn't be fixed in half a second in lightroom.

I eagerly await buying another one.
