IRC clients at least allow for a discrete window in the corner that doesn't interfere the the other things I want to do

That's been 4 /p/ discords in recent memory, why do we need another one?
the first one had a guy and his boyfriend posting gel pack shots and trolling everyone who entered
the second had 3 people on it at the busiest hours
one got taken over and closed within a week or two

Then why use IRC? At least discord plays well with multiple screens and phone

Discord is neither fancy or new technology, It's a crock of shit.

An IRC client can be a small text based window that sits, unobtrusively, in the corner of the screen with no poxy avatars, emojis or other bullshit. If you are unable to communicate without resorting to that trash I don't want to talk to you anyway
