The vast majority of people do not need a flagship and only really need a $150-200 phone, or you can go for the $300 pocophone, root it, and get near pixel 3 camera performance and have flagship specs.
The difference in price between that and a flagship phone is more than enough to cover a 2-3 gen old DSLR + some lenses
