In case you didn't see this. Group of Ruskies managed to sneak into Baikonur. Lots of fantastic photos with relics of Soviet space program. They also sneak into Buria (aka Buran 1.02) hangar. And witnessed Soyuz start.
Not sure how google do with text translation, but give it a try. Text part about their journey breddy good too.

I had a massive space boner for a week when that article dropped. One of those Burans was like 95% complete.

Buran made it into space. It was a first time in human when shuttle made a fully automated flight. It even changed preprogramed landing route because autopilot received information about strong wind from automated weather station and decided to change course.

I meant the two in the Cosmodrome. In a lot of ways the Buran was superior to Space Shuttle but unlike Space Shuttle it didn't have superior funding.

You dont fucking want very little depth of field so getting one of those kilometer telefocals is king so your gear doesn't burn up. Its honestly okay to have to deal with F22 or higher since you get everything in focus from in front of the shuttle to behind it, all that jazz.
Just gotta get an absolutely amazing tripod and hope for no vibration.
