>>3412522Nope, our sun will not nova out of existence. It will turn into a red giant eventually, engulfing everything roughly out to at a minimum Earth, and at a max the Asteroid Belt (past Mars). After this, and quite some time as well, it will stop having nuclear fusion reactions and will eventually turn into a white dwarf. The remnants of the gases and elements of this will likely be a nebula. Over time as the white dwarf cools, it will become a black dwarf as the remaining material slowly crystallizes. Slowly as in, this entire process takes tens of billions of years.
