>>3418278 >Do you lurk more than we know? Not that often, just happened to swing by and see the interested editing thread. I'm a sucker for these.
>>3418419>I learned how to do frequency separation from one of his live streams about 8 yrs ago.It makes me so happy to hear that my contributions to this board are still remembered.
>>3418431>DnB, do you always use same curves for them, or do you go for luminisity masks or custom curves at times?I always use the same curves for d&b (the raising the black point on the dodge mask and lowering the shadow point on the burn mask are really important - doing that somehow reduces color abberations). Luminosity blending mode is great for global adjustments, but I find it greys things out when used for d&b.
>Also, what's the thought behind pro contrast and contrast color range layers?Nik's pro contrast filter just works so well (when applied with a controlled touch). I really like the way it works the histogram. Usually this is among the final things I do to the image, right before sharpening.
The color contrast range filter (also from Nik's free Color Efex Pro set) does something I have never been able to replicate manually. It gives a really beautiful tan/flush when masked to areas of the face that are hit by the sun. When used in color blending mode, it's more of a blush. Normal blending mode gives a tan. I still have never been able to do what this filter does manually. Not sure what it's doing under the hood. Attaching the settings I generally use.
>>3418802>Link to his streams/tutorial?I just checked and unfortunately looks like the livestreams haven't been saved on the website I used, but on my blog you can see lots of tutorials, downloads, critiques, and tips I saved over the years that I contributed on /p
