>>3420430>the consistency is even observable in packagingAgreed, especially in 120 rolls. Kodak has this shitty paper strip keeping the roll tight, you have to fiddle for a minute to get it all off cleanly. Fuji has a cut tab that you pull and it goes off cleanly.
Same when you finish the roll, with Kodak you have to lick to seal it, Fuji has a tab with adhesive so you just pull and press together.
(Honourable mention to old Agfa, that had mint flavour to the strip you lick to seal the roll.)
>>3420449>Kodak's poor business decisions would have little or no effect on films produced by Kodak Alaris. They are two separate companies; not divisions. You have it completely wrong. Kodak Alaris manufactures nothing, just resells. What deal they managed to get (due to Kodak bankrupting), was to be the exclusive buyer and reseller of still photography film products.
Eastman Kodak manufactures all emulsions, chemicals, papers, etc. . Eastman Kodak has 2 customers:
•Hollywood studios for movie stocks and chems,
•Kodak Alaris for still photography stocks and chems.
So if the actual Eastman Kodak goes tits up, there's gonna be fuckall for Alaris to resell.
