Because in terms of advancing technology, shit is meant to be easier for the consumer you dumb cunt. Making the product easily accessible to a higher number of people means more people are exposed to your product. The more people buy your product the more money the company makes.

Yeah it actually works really well with macro photography, it actually is more important in macro because you typically get really shallow depth of field doing macro. So the focus stacking will allow you to have a slightly deeper depth of field. But it is a difficult technique to master, and not all scenes work well with it

Exactly. I'm all for democratizing photography and making it more accessible, but the kind of people who don't understand how light works aren't gonna be able to take good pictures with all the AI in the world. Better to spend the $200 on an intro to photography class and you'd come out taking a trillion times better photos than you could with this thing.

they're not the only ones working on this. i was recently invited to a focus group at Canon's Boca Raton campus. i had to sign an nda, but long story short- it was all about ai.

watch for stuff like this to be built in to the next generation of canon products. they're teaching it about photography with an online platform called RAISE.

What's wrong with that? It's STILL better than the cellphone shit. I read today that somebody's new cellphone camera has 46 megapixels. So I'm looking forward to 46 meg shit-shots.

Alright, well I guess fuck the entire theory of Composition, then. All these technically correct photos of people's subject-less, uninteresting backyards that "have good texture" are going to DESTROY my thoughtful, well considered narrative told though directing and composing a photo of my model in a, exciting location.

The only photographers this thing kills, are prom/graduate-photo bottom-feeders. Which aren't even a thing anymore for a lot of places, because Mr. So-and-so says he can do it, as he pulls out his HP Digital Camera from the early 2000's, cheap photo printer, and starts to tape up his ancient blue-white backdrop.
