Daily reminder that 5.25" bays are extinct from modern atx cases and even with a big pc tower you are on the same level of dongle adapter shittery with Macbook Air user.

Do you have internal memory card reader or even free 5.25" bays?

5.25" bays are being removed from case designs because no one uses optical drives anymore but aren't photographers the one big group who needs 5.25" for memory card readers?

If you have a big atx case it's crazy that you should use usb adapter to see your photos.

External 3.5 bays are even older thing.

Look up top seller new cases, almost none of them have any external slots. Even the hdd rack is gone in most cases and a basic atx case can have only few hdd or ssd placements.
All because glass side panels becoming popular.

What's the point of those 100 in one card panels? They are almost all ancient slow USB 2 panels.
Just get a tiny UHS2 / XQD reader or some legacy format reader.

It's always there.

Same with DVD player, internal and external ones are both 20 dollars but when you need a DVD player two years from now the external one is stored somewhere hard to get.

Once again, pc cases are big, why not utilize the space.

Funny thing is that big cases that still have 5.25" bays and hdd racks are very neutral looking and offer no glass windows or lighting.

It's the smaller cases that have glass panels and rgb lights but no real features like places for hard drives or optical bays.

I do like the tons of airflow, I kept my full ATX case as small and as nondescript as possible. Sadly adding a GPU has made it almost impossible to use an audio card at the same time

I don't doubt it if it's a decent card, but many on the market are being memed to boomers that had to have an IDE controller board in their time.
Those are largely assembled by the Chinese from the same components that comprise the onboard audio.

I had mine driving an amp, so worth the cost. Sadly with the way the case is and the graphics card crowding it, the damn thing just doesn't sit right. It's finicky and I've blown circuits just restarting my PC to adjust it. I'm done with the damn thing unless I need optical put for something.

Even 10 years ago external audio cards could give you easily 5 more fps in games as it took load off the cpu.

I think the cheapest 30 dollar Creative and Asus cards make a difference in audio compared to mobos. But up from there you start to pay for nothing.

I measured it and apparently the AC was blowing right onto the rad where I had it set up, but normally it's still room temperature on the idle.

Max load temps are like 48*C with all 16 turning and burning. Prime95 will get it to 75*C. It plays every game under the sun and loads up Photoshop and Lightroom in the blink of an eye, it's absurd how fast it is.
