I’ve got a $125 50/1.8 STM on my 5D Mark III.

The 50/1.4 wasn’t sufficiently better to justify the extra cost, and the 50/1.2 is too big and bulky for my everyday walking around lens. So, 50/1.8.

I use a $200 50 1.8 on my $3300 D850. I love the weight and size of it. I hate how absolutely massive the 50mm Sigma is, and I really can't justify the $900 price tag even though I've spent almost twice that much on lenses before.

Usually, yeah. It works much better than any of my mirrorless cameras and isn’t really larger in a way that makes a significant difference. So most of the time, it’s my go-to.
