I’m honestly not trying to bait I’m just new to this and this board. I’ve been taking photos since I could pick up disposable cameras but I’ve only had my own brety recently.
I’m pretty much exclusively interested in wildlife photography and would like to make my own documentaries someday.

I think it's just wrong (not useful) to think of 'lofi' as a genre that encapsulates a certain aesthetic. No, it's not inherently pretentious to use whatever accessible means you think are appropriate for achieving your vision. Probably more useful to expand on your vision and unpack the aesthetic of what you see as 'lofi' if you want to explore whether there is any pretension in the way you want to go about things.
