>>3437945>is iso bullshitYes and no. Tony's major mistake was to presume that people understood he was talking about iso invariant sensors. Many older cameras aren't. Plenty of youtube "experts" and their fans have tried to dismiss his views by trying to push their files by six stops (mostly Canon users).
Sadly, Ken "Fatty" Wheeler has been harping on about this for years and he's right. I don't like the guy but he's 100% correct on this. The sensor does it's job then the voodoo does it's job and the file is written to the card. Yes, the iso is just gain but what makes the raw file is much more than that.
If you need the best low light performance then yes it's good to test your sensor for iso invarience and it's sweet spot. If not just use the iso as it's intended. No one likes noise in their photos (maybe b/w street) it's not a big deal.
Tony went about this half cocked and has confused a lot of people. Or did he?... lots of views and reaction videos. I don't know.
Bottom line: If you NEED to shoot low light do some reseach into your own sensor, if not just set your iso to auto, it'll be fine.
