Nah probably like a few inches away at the closest. It was fairly dark between tanks so not much glare

for edit threads people usually use mediafire or something to upload the file, so people can edit the actual raw and not just the full size jpeg

i think this edit is the only time i have ever pushed the white balance slider in camera raw all the way over to the green/yellow sides. had to crank way down on the contrast too to bring out details, but i think the end result is not too bad. i've got a canon m5 with basically the same sensor as the 80d, so i'm pretty used to how these raws can be pushed

when it was shot at iso 2000 on a crop body is obviously gonna bring out some noise, so i wasn't really too worried about it

I too went to the local aquarium but stupidly I'm used to not wanting any grain in my shots and am always hardset to ISO100. These threads interest me since I'm trying to figure out a good rule of thumb ISO to fall back on if I want to keep low shutter speeds.
No flashes are allowed, let alone make for good images inside an aquarium what with all the glass, so thats off the books. A fast SS is also a must SINCE EVERYTHING IS FUCKING MOVING.

I'm bringing my tripod this time, helps even if half-extended as a handheld stabiliser or as a monopod in close-quarters.

Jellyfish are perfect subjects, they drift rather slowly, and parts of them fluoresce and glow like a light bulb filament.

Jellyfishhhhh here's another jelly pic of mine. Grain is fine to normies, don't go over 800 and you should be good. Shutter at 50 is fine if you don't have a shake ass hand. Prime lens so you're aperature is low. I used the 50mm at 1.8. EZPZ fren
