>>3440180> he has always bitched about getting the colors he wants out of his Nikons on shoots where I didn't seem to have any problem with my Canons.Or maybe he's just a shitty photographer and you're less shitty? Or you're less picky about color than he is? Or he shoots his nikon in more challenging color situations than his Fuji? Or a bajillion other possibilities?
I shoot Canon, Nikon, Fuji, Olympus, Leica, Pentax, and Sony, and I've never noticed any fundamental color differences between them. Yes, if I take the exact same shot one after each other and look at them both right next to each other, I see a difference, but the differences are very small. Certainly not enough for me to say one has objectively worse color science than any of the others.
>>3440198>after adding Fuji to his previously Nikon gear bagYeah, he got a shiny new toy and transferred his feelings about having a shiny new toy over to the results he got out of it. And/or getting a shiny new toy made him to out and have fun with photography again when his Nikon stuff had gotten boring and routine.
> go shoot a Sony for 3 months then a Canon for 3 months and see what you thinkI've shot primarily Canon for over a decade, and am going on just about three months owning a Sony. The Sony colors aren't worse. Neither are they better. If you showed me two shots, out of context, that had been edited the same, I would not be able to tell the difference. I doubt anyone would be able to do it consistently--I did a thread about that a while back and one guy who tried guessing which was which got a low D score, roughly consistent with a coin flip, and then refused to answer any more when I uploaded more shots because he felt that his low D meant that he'd 100% proven that the color science idea is real.
