Is there a point in wasting time and effort to participate in online photo contests?
How can an amateur even compete, when every contest gets obliterated by professionals pretty much immediately?
Especially contests where you can win substantial prizes - pros already have shitload of gear and money, and here they win even more.
I participated in one a few years ago, only to end up at 200-something place. First 30 places took people with elite-tier gear and even studios.

Please /p/, tell me there's more to it.
