There are too many variables and axes along which “best” can be measured, and several of them are orthogonal to each other.
For example: for some people, the best camera is the one with the most features, so they want a modern-as-shit camera that’s basically a DSLR without a sensor. For others, best is the most reliable, to the point that they want to be able to keep using it after the zombie apocalypse causes the power grid to fail, so they’re going to want something fully mechanical. Some people like a boxy camera, some people like one molded to their hand. Some people value image quality over all else so 35mm is totally ruled out; others value versatility, cost, and convenience over sheer resolution, so medium format and large format are out.
There are just too many variables for there to exist a Best Camera.
