Oh man, I disagree with like 90% of the things stated in this thread.
My list:
1. "Chosis" should be word filtered. The only thing worse than him is the fact that he's still a fucking celebrity here because you assholes won't stop talking about him. Mentioning his name should be a ban. Posting his pictures should be a ban. Obviously him evading his ban should be a ban and there should be a way to report that. AND YES I REALIZE THE IRONY OF ME TALKING ABOUT HIM WHILE COMPLAINING ABOUT PEOPLE TALKING ABOUT HIM.
2. Gear threads are fine. So long as they're legitimate gear threads. So, "Hey, I'm looking to buy a camera" is fine, talking about new camera announcements is fine, but "E-Mount can't handle a full frame sensor" and "A Fuji X100 is worse than a cellphone" are clearly troll threads and should be janitor'd.
Honestly, if everyone who complained about gear threads here would actually go through the photo thread index (
>>3444505) and critique/bump photo threads, gear threads wouldn't be a problem.
3. Single-photo threads are also fine. Why shouldn't they be? It's a slow-moving board. Threads which haven't gotten a post for a week are still on the board. The only reason people don't like single-image threads is because the sticky says not to like them. It's a rule with no purpose other than to have a rule so people who follow the stupid rule can feel superior to people who don't. It's not even a *rule* by the standards of the sticky, it's just a suggestion.
In general, less bitching about what other people are posting on the board, more actual posting of good things that you want to see on the board. And, again, yes, I recognize the irony of me saying that in a post bitching about the stuff on the board.
