In my opinion, if you're right eye dominant and shoot with an RF, the camera doesn't cover your face, since the viewfinder is on the top right.
While with the SLR half your face is always covered since the viewfinder is in the middle.
If you're left eye dominant though, you're shafted both by SLRs and RFs. Your face will be covered from the camera (minor) *and* the advance lever will be touching/poking into your eye (major). This is especially bad with *some* SLRs, cause the advance lever has to be slightly protruding for the camera to be "on" to meter and shoot. Maybe that's what he means.
