>>3464438i can understand where op is coming from. while everyone is also right about the diffused lighting of overcast, i think it may have more to do with where you live and what sort of pictures you like to take.
i live in an area that is known for mostly sunny, cloudless skies so that is the norm for me. i'm less adapted to overcast and gloom. there are plenty of opportunities to shoot in the morning and evening and in the shade.
i prefer the warm colors of sunlit scenes to the colder tones of overcast and would rather go out shooting on bright, clear days
