I like the fact that you composed the frame so the cardinal isn't intersected by the dark lines of the trees in the background, but would've liked it a bit more if he were centered between those branches more. Also, I'd recommend bringing the shadows up a bit more to make his face less dark, and maybe level the wire a bit better (if possible--it's going to be a wide catenary curve, so it might not be possible to get it flat). Overall though, good shot. Birds are hard to get close with.

Since the mama bird flew away, you could've gotten a closer perspective on the eggs, which might've been a more interesting shot. With the screen, though, it almost evokes a prison-like feeling--the cat is behind bars and not happy about it. Its body language feels angry and resentful. I would recommend cleaning the spots on the wall--not sure if those were there in reality or they're dirt on your sensor, but it looks like the latter to me.
