I don't have a whole lot of composition options when I'm at home, and the the purple bolt across the sky that I took was my closest attempt at a good comp, with the streetlights, however I'm sure that while I'm chasing there will be infinite good comps available.
As for wide-angle, I usually shoot with the kit T6 lens at the minimum mm to get a big shot of a streak of CC.
Shutter count has kinda been in the back of my mind while I've been doing continuous shooting at night. But knowing that it'll last well past 100k is definitely a relief.
As for shot ruiners, fucking rain goddamnit. I'm gonna invest in a rag or something that I can wipe off my lens with. Chasing is awkward, found that out the first time I ever chased. Gotta plan for it ahead of time and not just hop in the car and head off into the anvil-obscured sunset.
As for daytime lightning/lightning triggers, I'm not sure really. Usually I'll shoot video and get lightning stills if it's too bright to do some sort of long exposure. Lightning trigger would be nice, but I'm more likely to shoot video/structure than lightning during the day.
Again, thanks for the advice everyone. Attached is a shot I took half an hour ago, hoping to get a streak across an old Victorian-era home, but just ended up with the Moon behind a sheet of clouds. Still think it looks cool, will try to use the house for comp sometime. Cheers.
