I'm a fucking genius

Anyone with a Pentax K-3 II, KP, or K-1 willing to try something to see if my idea works?
Go into Pixel Shift mode and try to take a series of 4 images, slightly adjusting the focus point in each shot. I'm curious to see if you can use Pixel Shift mode to create focus stacked images in camera.
I have the K-3 so I don't have that functionality, but if it works and Pentax releases the successor to the K-3 II in the next year or two I may pick one up because I've been getting into macro lately and this would make focus stacking a breeze.
Also Pentax reps if you're trolling the depths of 4chan for ideas here's your golden goose. Focus stacking in camera like exposure bracketing. Nikon has a feature that takes multiple shots and adjusts the focus for you at set intervals, but does not do the processing in camera. Incorporate that feather and in camera processing and you've got a winner.

tl;dr: someone with a Pentax try using Pixel shift mode to create a 4 shot focus stacked image in camera.
