In any way you can't plan, you're there for few minutes, and take what's in front of you. Noting compares to the feeling of topping one, though. One short moment fills your batteries for months.
Alpine photography is done at lower elevations, when you've time and opportunity to wait for right conditions. Does not go without luck and right planning.
