First of all, read the pseudowiki. APS-C is generally recommended for newbies because it can do all what the big cameras can that is needed for the beginner to get into photography, while being cheaper and lighter.
We generally recommend a used APS-C DSLR for a beginner. An entry DSLR is cheap but limited and doesn't built to last. A good couple gens old intermediate body is recommended, can be had for cheap used and is built much more rugged.
The generic recommendations are Nikon D7000 or D7100/7200, Canon 60D, 70D or 7D
The lens you will need to begin is the kit lens, generally a 18-55mm lens.
Since mirrorless came into the market Sony has been shilled hard, but there are good other MILC recommendations, like the Fuji X-E1, X-E2, X-T10, X-T20, and there are good MFT size ones like Panasonic G7 or G80/85 or Olympus E-M10.
The Fuji, Pana and Oly are considered underdogs next to the Canon/Nikon/Sony hegemonia. The other underdog is Pentax that gives rugged build DSLRs with higher feature pack than the other brands in the same class, the recommended ones from Pentax are K-70 or K-3/K-3II.
Good luck asking for opinion on the underdogs here though, the sonyshill and other retards will be quick to jump to troll you to hell.
I suggest you leave this board, go on normal forums, ask around, look at example shots on Flickr, decide on your buy and then come back and lurk the actual photo threads, not the gearfag cesspools.
