Simple question: fifty 20x24” colour prints, either printing them yourself or done by a lab, how much?
I can do it with $300.
I’ll answer your deflecting questions though:
>how do you share your pictures with people that arent in the same room as you? do you post them a print?I bring them in the room, or I bring myself in their room. Ever heard of exhibitions, meetups, etc.? Posting a print is fine. Individual people still buy prints to hang on their walls, does anyone really buy digital photos to watch on a screen?
>i bet you scan your shit. so tell me, why bother with film for photos if you're just going to turn it into pixels anyway?Of course I do. It’s for cataloguing and also for digital use, like profile pics for friends’ social media, websites, etc. . What do you mean why bother? The scan is not the goal, it’s a secondary convenience that enables digital use and quick sharing. The photos reside on the negatives and the prints, the scan is an intermediary step that could be skipped if you don’t need a digital representation of your photos.
>also, your time must be worthless because you didnt factor that into your little fiscal break down.Ah, this argument again. Do you factor in the cost of your time when doing a hobby or a sport?
“My modelling hobby costs me about $250 per month, $50 for materials and 20 hours I spend x $10/hour for my time” <—— Is anyone actually saying that? Or the same for playing a sport or practicing an instrument?
My time will be factored in if I’m hired to do something, but of course I won’t factor it in when doing my hobby.
>tell us, how many prints do you get for your $300 dollar investmentI told you, 50. Next 50 will be $150 cause now I have the enlarger already.
>are you printing the same photo over and over? No, any photo.
So, feeling like answering my question now?
