>>3498593I believe the word snapshot was originally a shooting and hunting term. A shot that was taken quickly without aiming. Like if a rabbit broke from cover darting towards it's hole you'd take a snapshot.
A photograph would be like more like tracking and stalking a deer until you are almost guaranteed a kill shot (head or heart). Range, windage and behaviour of the prey all considered.
If you were trying to feed your family a snapshot at a bunny might provide a meal if you're lucky. However, fresh tracks and poop from a deer, with time, patience and skill could provide a month's worth of meat.
Spray and pray is another shooting term used by photographers and potshot should be (similar to a snapshot). If you play vidya look at your weapons of choice. I go for sniper rifle, grenades and then "something else". Your photographic style will determine your load out.
