Had a 450d; basically the same thing.
Great cam to learn and do basic stuff, or just having fun taking photos. You will know if you need to upgrade it, when you'll need to upgrade it.

its the standard newbie camera. every teenage girl who wants to get into photography gets that camera for christmas. that being said, its a perfectly fine camera for beginners, no shame
