Hey /p/, bought a camera almost 1 year ago and I've been shooting semi-consistently. Here's what I think are my best shots.

it's not a lens defect it's perspective as we look up...the top of the building is farther away and so recedes in space and the lines converge. think of a road going into the distance.

Your eye does it too. It's called 3 point perspective. Literally every lens will do this because it's what happens when you look up and the verticals of the building is no longer parallel to the picture plane. It's not a defect it's how perspective works.

I know what it is, I'm just arguing the cause of it. It even says on the page that it is caused because distant objects are smaller and the top of buildings is farther away. It's exactly what I said.

You're saying it's the same as the eyes. Massive error. Eyes act as a sort of tilt shift lenses. Lenses up to around 50mm will produce much stronger distortions that eyes will. Tilt your cam up at a vertical thingy, look through your viewfinder, then look at the object with your other eye, then come back and say sorry for being stupid.
