I've set a high bar and now it's so hard to achive the aesthetic I envision, I try to replicate or mimic old paintings of flowers, so far I have 500 followers on instagram and my work is just so bad I've deleted it all and I wish I wouldn't want to stop but I think this is so uncommon for a reason

What? you probably mean hurrduurr read more about photography, instead of questioning my camera abilities,maybe If I had a top model it would look better, but fuck off if you only came here to insult me,the iso is as high it gets without extra grain ,the aperture is as low as it gets F3.8 or F4.0 or something letting the light in,and I don't have a tripod for longer times in shutter speed ,so I use the minimum I can but without the picture gettiing shaky,which is 30/1 or 20/1 in the best cases

What is your background/training/experience with other types of photography? Just curious.
Also, there are some pretty good photoshop filters/actions that will give a photo a very "painterly" appearance, if you start with a well-exposed and properly lit/focused/composed photo.
Or if you don't want to use Photoshop actions, maybe use a lower ISO for less noise and modify the brighness/contrast in post?

If you seriously want to achieve anything like the first pic in your example, you'll need to have VERY specific and accurate control of your lighting, which, in the earlier samples you posted, you most definitely do not.
Take a look at the method this guy uses to get that effect:

For now? I"ll maybe keep up posting the photos I take in instagram so pictures are both smaller,which means they look better and due to the phones having a higher brightness/contrast they would look better,check out how my page looks

obviously they need a little more highlights which I can give them by tweaking the settings and so on .. probably will also rely on the paint effect from photoshop to get better results ,and its good,I'm pleased with the results

I think that your concept is interesting and these pictures arent even bad, just a little brighter and you gotta work on your color. I think it can be really cool if you figure out how to do it.
Have you tried shooting in normal light and editing the pics in lightroom to get the look you want, instead of shooting in the dark?

Interesting try, what are your inspirations painting wise? A typical 17 century nature morte can have a black background but usually very vivid foreground.

With a more distant background (outside, facing the sky). You'll get a black background and vivid foreground.

You could use dodge burn, etc.. to remove some of the clutter. And brighten you pic.

All of this started because I took a picture (pic related ) that had a different style to the typical photos I use to take which were very amateur looking and boring in general,typical Instagram presets (high contrast,over the top saturation, hdr looking,etc) and this picture was different,black background,a floral element, vivid green tones .. and it made me think I should get more into it,first I bought a little compact Panasonic camera but the quality wasn't so good and I didn't know what to photograph, I thought it was baroque looking but it's actually more similar to chiaroscuro technique (according to /ic) so now I try to just get good,dark, flower photography

I like what you're trying to do but your pics are too dark, I can't see shit half the time.
For daylight pics you can try the vaseline on the lens thing (to give it a abstract painting look), but put it on a filter or something so it's easier to clean afterwards and you don't potentially ruin a lens. Just an idea to make things more interesting.

Hey bro, you could try the following
1.get s tripod and shoot slower
2.shoot at afternoon instead of night, you can make the picture darker then on ps
3. Maybe try lightpainting: set the camera on tripod, and use idk, exposures longer than a second, and use a flashlight (your phone works) to "paint light" where you need it

for any kind of still life photography, I'd suggest you work within a controlled environment (build a mini studio), so you can experiment on the lightings and compositions. Much like a painter has a mini studio in their mind.

These are all garbage. What I think adds to the garbage nature is how hard you're leaning into a yellow cast on everything as though the paintings you're trying to emulate were painted with a yellow cast and general murkiness.
