I'm skeptical for a number of reasons.

- The video encoder is probably still the same old shitty 4K 30P.
- Finally putting a rubber sealing on the battery doorway after 4 generations isn't going to impress people.
- Organic sensor probably isn't ready.
- Just a mere Resolution bump isn't going to WOOOOW people.

It takes 3 years to design this type of CPU from scratch.

However I think that's what the future of camera releases is going to look like. No major updates, just polishing out the small things like that second card slot becoming uhs-ii (as if they couldn't have made it like that from the start those greedy fucks).

But the thing is they need to make the grip taller, not just deeper, say to match up in height with the EVF. Needing to add an L-bracket to their cameras since the grip isn't tall enough shouldn't be necessary, even if L-brackets are good for tripod use.

That was their original mindset. But things changed, Panasonic suddenly ordered a load of FF sensors, and Sony put 2+2 together.

The Meike copyproduct has the Tripod compatible form factor. Plus additional thread as well.

It's an a7ii.

If you arent good at mf control with your lenses, the af isnt reliable nor is the eye af. You really learn how to use the peaking.

IQ wise it's great, but the batteries drain upon usage more than time spent in camera.

You can do long exposure for about a half hour and kill one.

Is that needed somehow?

Sony's approach is anyhow to have the IR assist on their HVL-45RM / HVL-60RM and maybe other flashes where they're better positioned. But obviously you can also just use Godox' transmitter if you're on the Godox system.

Bestsellers like the mark 3 will have long lifetime on the self, so mark 4 won't come until 3 more years or so.

My guess is they will tweak the A9 sensor a bit and add it to mark 4 basic.

a7r3 42mpix raws are about 80 megabytes so i guess those 60mpix raws are going to be about 110 megabytes if there is no new raw compression engine involved

Uncompressed isn't really worth it.

I was happy when they unlocked the uncompressed option, but in the end I just picked compressed and saved a shit ton of HDD space.

Depending on the kind of synthetic hardened foam used it is actually better.
