Just got this one today. Not even been an hour, and I love this thing so bad. It's beautiful. And just works so damn well.

I’m leaning towards the z6 myself. I don’t need dual card slots, and I don’t need 3,000 lenses, because I can only afford a handful. Granted, the lineup is a little weak right now, but I imagine that won’t be the case in 5 years.

SSDs are cheaper than SD cards. My 400GB SD card was like $60, you can get used 480GB Seagate 600 Pro enterprise class SSDs with power loss protection which will never wear out (unlike various cards will) on eBay for the same price.

I can easily get 33-35 pics in one go and with 2 sec intervals, the buffer clears halfway which is more than enough for me in literally all scenarios I've been in. Although 35 is less than ~40 on an A7 III, the buffer clears much faster at roughly just 5 seconds rather than 10 for the best case scenario of the A7 III

If you can't get one good shot out of 35 ones, you shouldn't change camera. You should change profession

Aside from avoiding getting JUSTed by a failing card, the only other point I see in having dual cards is to have more storage on the go, though having an extra card in your bag won't do any harm to be honest. Most of the bitching around this is just autism

Been using my Z7 since last December, very satisfied with it so far.
I got more than 1,000 photos last month in Pilanesberg on a single battery (I had a second one that I only used later in the day because I started filming some stuff) so battery life isn't really a problem either.

I only have one problem
I was out earlier tonight shooting and recording some video.
Even at high ISO levels, the video looked phenomenal through the viewfinder and I decided to turn down the ISO to record “what my eyes see”
When I transferred the video to my phone however, both videos were significantly darker than what I saw through the viewfinder.
Would just upping the exposure in post do the trick?
My PC is not available atm

It is you tard, that SSD has a RAM cache of at least a couple GB. All that did was benchmark the cache, not the drive itself. Go find a benchmarking program which doesnt suck shit and allows you to write several hundred GB and then graph the performance over time. You'll see the bandwidth drop like a fucking rock after the first few GB. You're trying to brag about a literally who branded chinkshit SSD.

This is also the most retarded benchmark you could possibly run. Go find one which will do IOPS and run it over a dozen or so transfer sizes.

ironically, adding a custom LUT and just adjusting the highlights, blacks, shadows and whites did the trick. Didn't even touch exposure.
I did not record in any LOG format though which could have helped alot, even though it's technically possible internally with the EOSHD Z-Log pack. I am just waiting for my XQD reader to arrive

Although the battery life isn't as bad as what many thought, I don't think it will be sufficient to get a nice timelapse of the nightsky showing the constellations drifting across. That would require hours worth of battery life. I have seen some say that you can't charge while the camera is on, while others have shown it's possible.
