28mm F2 vs. 35mm F1.8?

I'm looking to get an A7iii, and along with that one portrait lens + one semi-wide angle lens for street photography.

Budget is limited, so I'm looking at the Sony FE 28mm F2, the upcoming Sony 35mm F1.8, and the Sony 85mm F1.8.

I'm getting the 85mm for portrait, so between the 28mm and 35mm which one would you recommend for basically a walk-around lens?

For street photography I prefer 35mm over 28mm and 50mm. But that is a personal preference so YMMV.

Keep your 85 for street. You don't have the balls to get close enough for 35, let alone 28mm.

I've always found 35 to be too narrow for my taste Sugar Plum. Shoot wider and you have the option of cropping in a bit later.

wide angle makes your pictures look like ass. if you want 28mm just use your stupid phone. 85mm and 50mm are good for portraits and 50mm is great for street.

But the 35, at least on the Nikon side has less distortion and is great for straight lines and buildings with people in the background and that lens is 30 years old I can only imagine the Sony one being even better.

My actual walkaround is a 50 1.4 AF-D but I keep the 35 in my pocket it's a very small lens

Sure, some shots don't need to be WA, some faces don't look good on WA, but overall WA looks pretty and interesting on a good lens.

Noise, the 1.8-D has some contrast issues wide open. Stopped down a bit and it's super sharp.

The 50 1.8 AF-D is basically a Series E 50 1.8 with AF and a little bit better coatings. It's a winner at f2.5 and up. I had one in my bag for a while.

The 1.4-D has it's own wide-open issues. It's a bit soft and has hellacious sphereochomatic abberations in the blue range on high contrast points of light, pic related. It's still a winner and I kind of like the whole dreamy look it does wide open.
