Why are some people so flustered over being included in street photography?
Don’t they realize that they are literally being recorded at up to 30 FPS by numerous CCTVs around the area?
If I see a street photographer and I notice they are pointing their lens in my direction I don’t mind although I sometimes look straight into their lens with a smug smile to ruin the moment they are trying to capture for fun

Most people don't. Only people who see it as an excuse to exert some power or moral authority over you and other assorted busybodies. 'murica has an extraordinarily high percentage of those. Britbongs just see it as an excuse to knife you and steal your camera.

Depends on how you look anon. I'm quite young and people don't give a second thought when I shove my camera into their faces. If you're older, hang some lenses from your belt like Christmas ornaments. Makes you look like a pro-photog more than a pedophile

The only negative experience I had was the owner of a car repair shop told me he didn't like anyone taking pictures of his place of business - from the street! no trespassing involved! - and then followed me down the street so he could watch me get back in my car and leave, probably so he could write down the license plate. Fucker did this *after* I gave him a business card when he first approached me.

CCTV's have a distinct purpose and the footage is only reviewed within a closed system so that's a useless comparison. I think most people have issues with the images being published, and from what I see here, there are a lot of shy young people who think they are doing "street photography", snap your picture, and then upload it to some crappy image board.

Ya so what about all that CCTV footage of fails/fights/funny shit that constantly gets uploaded to Reddit? The owner of the business can do whatever they want with that stuff. Also, what about Dashcam footage?

Well, those uploads are illegal and the owner of the business operating the cameras can be sued. Yes there is a lot of illegal publishing and it's difficult to do something about it, but that's exactly why people are weary when you want to take their picture.
