So, I've read "the reviews"... Interestingly I could only find one review from the main Astro forums which is quite telling. The rest were from the usual photo review sites. The concept seems good enough but I'd give it a miss.
The set up and alignment procedure sounds like a serious ball ache. Most importantly though the image quality in the edges can be quite poor when using rectilinear wide angle lenses. The sensor moves and not the camera so stars can get funky as the sensor moves, exaggerating the off axis distortions.
I think a better (but still not cheap) solution is one of the "mini eq mounts" that can be mounted to standard tripods. I've seen a few recently.
A simple eq1 with a quartz single axis drive would be much cheaper (and you'd get a free telescope on top). For wide angle lenses it'll track for ages. The learning curve will be about the same but with an eq mount you will actually learn something.
