This. Some of us are working fine art photographers, regardless of our financial success and exposure. I, for one, certainly don't aspire to be some Instagram photographer doing meme-tier work that will never in any way contribute to the scope of art history.

I shoot for myself. I am my only consistent client and that is who I aim to please. Even if I get praise on a photo it doesn't do much for me anymore. All I want at the end, if I ever stop shooting or just die one day, is to have a body of work I'm truly proud of, and look back on all the travel experiences surrounding them, being pleased with myself.
