Eos r is front heavy with ef lenses. I'll stick with something like mark IV or 6d2 till they make more native lenses for it.

Build quality wise the IV is a more high end camera than the EOS R for sure. You can often find them for pretty much the same price. The IV will hold value much better as well, if you ever want to get a mirrorless canon in the future you'll have more luck selling off the IV.

Dang, 2 years is pretty bad.

For what it's worth, they still haven't bothered to test the APS-C lenses with the A6300 and A6500. Even though the sensor has wider photosites to capture large angles of incident.

It looks like DXO's priority is

when i say they withheld the review, I mean they reviewed the 645Z, it got a score of 101 and they didn't publish the review for 2 years until they reviewed a Hasselblad and it scored a 102. then the 645Z review was finally published

I would purchase the Canon EOS R over the mark iv unless you have a line a good used mark iv. Generally newer technology is better than older.

Ignore the pentax trolling. I would consider the sony alternative unless you need the stronger lens selection that Canon provides. Sony while initially a meme brand has produced interesting cameras. However they have an extremely nasty habit of releasing cameras for purchase without proper testing and then updating them to fix issues with the design.

The IV is the better action camera though and it can be a better alrounder with dualcard slots, conventional af beam light, gps, more shots per battery. The image quality is compareable and you also can use dual pixel live view, here only with the display though. Not an easy decision, which is why I wait. Not OP..
