Is there a good reason Canon APS-Cs have a 1.6 crop factor instead of 1.5? Why even go Canon for cropped sensor cameras?

EF lens support. You get more zoom due to the smaller size ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ I have two Cropped Canons a like em.

Also smaller sensor is cheaper, and theoretically will give better results with image stabilizing
