outside of america people don't even know about ansel. he is not a "household name" outside of america.
if you want to compare the monetary value then Wolfgang Tillman, David Lachapelle, Ed Burtynsky, Cindy Sherman photographs are worth in millions.
photography art world is already a tiny niche and still in this digital era it exist in print. and its shameful when photographers themselves aren't educated about their own art medium.
