In my state, I have the right to use lethal force again someone in the commission of a felony. I don't even have to feel that my life is threatened, it can be a pure property crime. Because of the value of my gear, it would be a felony. The cops very likely wouldn't even arrest me for questioning.
So if some retard tried to mug me for my gear, it would be less time and less hassle to shoot them dead on the spot than to file with my insurance. Society then also enjoys the ancillary benefit of a worthless piece of shit being disposed of like the trash they are.
This is also why my state has the one of the lowest rates of assaults and home invasions in the country.
